Reflecting on the materiality of the media world, this installation sonifies the course of copper on Earth.

As an essential metal for electronic devices and one of the few materials that can be recycled repeatedly, copper renews itself alongside technological progress. Sounds of copper mining and smelting are reproduced according to the probability of annual percentage figures of the last decade. Leaving scars on Earth, copper crystallizes hundreds of years of geophysical affordances and technological development. This plate made of smelted wires tells the story of its own materiality.
